Ginco International, Company
I started out in 1973 with a small line of ginseng capsules and roots. My vision was to share the benefits I felt from consuming ginseng with others by selling quality products. With the help of my wife and partner, Linda Raskin, and Rick Seibert, who joined us in 1977 and later became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the business prospered.
Our mission is not to copy other companies' products, but rather to fill the gaps and resolve the problems that are not currently being addressed in the marketplace. To fulfill this mission, we created a new company, GINCO International, in 1994 and began producing our own line of ginseng products under the brand name of Imperial Elixir.
In researching the practices of other companies in our industry, we found that the quality dilemma could be traced all the way back to the selection of the powders used in the capsules. We came to believe that many companies were buying powdered ginseng, with only the vendor's word for its authenticity, purity and quality. In an effort to eliminate this possible quality gap, and using the experience and knowledge that we have in this field, we decided that we would only purchase the ginseng roots themselves. And then, only after we had approved the quality of the roots, would the ginseng be ground into powder for the capsules. With our Siberian Eleuthero, we have taken an additional step toward quality by using only 5:1 extract powder (it takes five pounds of root to make one pound of powder) or 10:1 extract powder in order to allow the body to assimilate this particularly fibrous root more easily and more effectively.
Although we are very satisfied with the results of these quality measures, we also have the raw materials assayed by independent laboratories and use cGMP contract manufacturers in the production of our products.
